The Barrydale Analogue Photographic Festival (BAPF) is an annual event held in the small town of Barrydale, a couple of hours drive from Cape Town in the Western Cape province of South Africa.
 
It's been on my radar for a couple of years, but as I live in Johannesburg it’s just a little bit more of a drive. About 14 hours in total, if you do it in one big push and don't stop.

Festival director Graham Abbot explained that while the festival is all about analogue processes, ie film shot and printed in a traditional darkroom,  my work, which mixes both digital and handprinted analogue processes, would fall into the ‘hybrid section’ of the event.

I’m exhibiting a selection of work in the Info Hub building and will be talking about my experiences with the cyanotype (C), Van Dyke brown (VDB), and salted paper processes (SALT) on Sunday 14th December at 2pm.
