Aedicule : a tension so exact that it is peace
The historical prints in the show utilise the cyanotype and Van Dyke brown processes, are hand-printed on Hahnemühle Harmony 300 gsm hot press watercolour paper, and are archival when mounted, framed and hung as recommended. Due to the nature of hand-made prints using these processes there are slight variations between prints.
To ensure the longevity of your print I recommend using 'conservation' board for mounting and matting as the chemistry used in both historical processes responds negatively to the alkaline buffers used in 'acid-free' mounts and mats. Avoid hanging the print in humid areas such as bathrooms, or in direct or bright sunlight, as excessive UV rays will cause the image to degrade over time.
